Choosing Concrete Flooring for Steps

Jun 28th

Concrete flooring – Outdoor steps require weather-resistant materials to maintain its integrity over the years. The choice of concrete pavers allows the homeowner to install steps once with a strong structure that will last for years. Because outer step treads are often wider than the lumens, choosing a paver to fit the overall dimensions is important.

Choose a structurally sound paver. Determine the desired width of each tread proposed concrete flooring. Consider the placement of the stones along, if you are creating outdoor steps with a comparable increase to an internal staircase. Traditionally, this is too steep a climb with a tread too narrow outdoor staircase though; you can use these dimensions to provide an upgrade to a door or a limited number between levels patio.

Plan for that entire paving stones at a depth of 16 inches and a depth of 8 inches to avoid cutting.  Allow for additional concrete flooring pavers for the upward step, if desired. Using previous measurements, you must add four pavers for each elevator between treads. Multiply the number of pavers for the tread by the number of proposed steps. Buy a few extra in case you discover broken or chipped cobbles to install.
